FilmAid is committed to a participatory approach, teaching skills and involving local communities with the media making process. Our training program empowers young people to tell their own stories in their own voice.  Through film, photography, journalism, radio and digital media education, FilmAid gives individuals the creative and technical skills necessary to explore the concerns of their own communities and to express themselves creatively.

+ FilmAid Training Program

Empowering young people to make films and other media for their own communities.

The FilmAid Training Program fosters community collaboration and empowers young people to tell their own stories in their own voices. Through training, equipment and support, FilmAid provides the basic necessities for making media in communities that would never normally have the opportunity. The FilmAid Training Program is vocational – it teaches young people life skills – but it also feeds into everything FilmAid does. Without the talent and enthusiasm of our local filmmakers, the powerful educational and informational local content FilmAid produces and screens would not exist.
