The documentary He Named Me Malala will release this Friday, October 9, 2015 in over 75 cities in the US and special screenings will be held in select cities worldwide.
The documentary centers on Malala's journey from Swat Valley, where she is shot for standing up for the right to education, to Oslo, Norway where she is the youngest-ever to win the Nobel Peace Prize. The film also gives us a glimpse into Malala's world- from her everyday life at school and home life which showcases her family travels around the world on behalf of all girls denied an education.
FilmAid highlights a variety of women and girls' issues through film, particularly the right to education. We stand #withMalala today and this weekend for the International Day of Girl on October 11, 2015.
