FilmAid in Estonia

Internews’ program Supporting Independent Media in the Baltics Action (SIMBA) team is running a film camp at the Sillamäe Youth Center with support from FilmAid. Sillamäe is a town of less than 15,000 inhabitants in Estonia’s Ida-Virumaa region, mostly populated by an ethnic Russian minority. The camp will run 2-3 weeks with a mix of on-site and online training culminating in completed documentary films. The students have chosen two themes for producing their films, local deforestation and new young immigrants in the region. After the camp concludes, participants will receive follow-up mentoring sessions for two months to complete the films.
